Uttarakhand to get integrated textile park

Uttarakhand is all set to have its first modern and integrated textile park. The state government is going to develop an integrated textile park at Jaspsur in Udham Singh Nagar in a public private partnership. The SIIDCUL in association with a private sector will set up a joint venture and will hold a 49 per cent stake in it.

The integrated textile park will be developed in 75 acres land at Jaspsur. The objective of the JV is to create basic infrastructure for entrepreneurs like providing interested companies land at subsidized rates to set up textile industries in the state. The proposed integrated textile park will have features like a common effluent treatment plant, a medium sized auditorium, an exhibition centre, a hostel for labourers, a primary health centre, two residential towers for business managers and other basic services like banking and postal and transportation facilities.

The estimated cost of the textile park is Rs 135 crores. With a view to attract investments in the textile sector the government will also grant special incentives to entrepreneurs. Industrialists may be able to get 4 to 5 per cent concession on central schemes. Similarly, the state government would give 50 per cent concession to industrialists on stamp duty on purchase of land. Besides, special concessions will also be given on use of other services like electricity, added the officials concerned.
